JYJ returns to Japan for the first time in 4 years in grand style
JYJ will finally be returning for official promotions!
And they’ll be doing it with a bang – the trio will have a 3-day concert at the Tokyo Dome. Their label said, “JYJ will be meeting their fans in Japan for the first time in 4 years. This Tokyo Dome concert will go on for 3 days, and it means a lot in various ways. We will be revealing the details of the concert within the week.”
There were rumors that the boys had been approached by famous Japanese labels after the end of their lawsuit with Avex. Hopefully the fact that they’re standing on stage for their Japanese fans means they now have a stable career in front of them in Japan!

President Park Geun Hae’s presidential inauguration ceremony left many disappointed as the celebratory performances of certain singers were not handled well by broadcasting companies, or not aired at all.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in front of the National Assembly Building on the 25th, featured celebratory performances by popular singers such as Psy, JYJ, Brave Guys, Jang Yoon Jung and Sonya. This was due to President Park Geun Hae’s wish for the ceremony to be one that the people of Korea participated in creating.
However, some of the performances were not handled well by broadcasting companies. The screen would cut to a different scene, or comments by the anchors would drown out the songs. At times, the overall set-up of the performances suffered from rough screen transitions, as though there weren’t enough cameras on location.
This attitude of the major broadcasting companies was then compared to that of NHK.
During its news segment, NHK aired a portion of the performances that the broadcasting company had filmed itself with the caption, “President Park Geun Hae’s inauguration ceremony was graced by K-Pop singers and artistes who are famous both domestically and overseas.”
NHK especially focused on JYJ’s celebratory performance. Through the four-minute news reel aired by NHK, JYJ were shown performing hits of the 90s, Seotaji and Kids’ ‘I Know’ and SOLID’s ‘Holding on the End of Tonight’. They continued to sing their own hits ‘Found You’ and ‘Empty’.
Showing JYJ performing ‘I Know’, NHK added a detailed explanation as they added, “Korea’s top idol group JYJ made their debut in 2009 and is a K-pop group created by Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun, who are former members of TVXQ. They sang their hit songs ‘Found You’ and ‘Empty’.”
For the exact same scene, Korean broadcasting companies simply stated, “Songs from the 1990s are being sung,” and did not provide any further explanations of the group or the songs.
It is plausible to say that following every movement of the new president is more important than showing the celebratory performances in such an event. But this could mean that the ceremony might end up being a news segment that constantly updates the movement of the president.
However, the president invited these singers to create a ceremony with public participation, and this is an important and honored moment for the singers as they are given the opportunity to perform at such a monumental ceremony. Many were disappointed that such a precious moment in these singers’ lives was not properly broadcasted to the public.
If the broadcasting companies had put a little more effort into their work, they would have been able to find a way to cover both objectives.

It was revealed that Hallyu stars JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) donated the money they received as honorary ambassadors of the ‘Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2012 (KBEE 2012)’ to UNICEF Korea.
JYJ were chosen as honorary ambassadors for ‘KBEE 2012′, which was held in Osaka last November and worked hard to promote communication and business between Korea and Japan. ‘KBEE’ is Korea’s biggest ‘Hallyu product expo’ and was held under the title ‘Korea-Japan Communication Expo’, last year in consideration of the diplomatic disputes between the two countries. A total of 30,000 people and 800 buyers and investors attended the event.
JYJ’s UNICEF donation ceremony will be held on the 5th of March at 2pm at the UNICEF Korea Committee building in Seoul, and Kim Jaejoong will attend the ceremony as the representative of JYJ to deliver the donation.

JYJ member Kim Jae Joong’s in-demand repackage album, Y, is already sold out.
C-Jes Entertainment announced on February 27, “Kim Jae Joong’s repackage album is causing a stir in the music market following his solo mini album.”
The company added, “As soon as the 50,000 preorders were released, the album completely sold out and we’re receiving floods of additional orders, causing us to run short in supply.”
The repackage album was released through on and offline markets on February 26.
The repackage includes two new tracks composed by Kim Jae Joong, Only Love and Kiss B. The songs have already taken over the iTunes charts of Thailand, Japan, and Philippines.

Unprofessional 'Channel A' Commentators Draw the Anger of JYJ Fans Update
As if we needed more evidence that 'doofus syndrome' runs rampant in South Korea's media and entertainment industry, Channel A has come under criticism for their snide commentary during the airing of JYJ's performance around the 2013 South Korean Presidential Inauguration.
JYJ was asked to be part of the special lineup of performers at a ceremony for Park Geun Hye. Its a feat not accomplished by any of the lame candy KPOP groups out now... at least not any of the groups managed by the big Korean conglomerate entertainment agencies.
According to fans who watched the broadcast, one commentator referred to JYJ as "the group that fell out of TVXQ before".
If the translated reports are accurate, the asinine comments implied that JYJ was dropped by SM Entertainment or abandoned TVXQ. The truth is JYJ sued and won their freedom from an agency which reportedly had totalitarian-like rule over Junsu's, Yoochun's and Jaejoong's lives and their money. (Read SM Troubles News Section)
The distinction is important because many people who don't keep up with the latest music or KPOP news were probably watching the event. They would have no idea that what the commentators said was misleading.
One male commentator is reported to have made other snide comments claiming that JYJ's performance looked "messy"/"sloppy" and compared it to "karaoke". It didn't, of course.
Many observers were very displeased at the commentary saying things like "That went too far..." while fans are asking for a public apology from Channel A for being disrespectful.

And its been on and on like that since the event happened. Generally, people thought the Channel A commentators were out of place with such snide commentary during such an important event.
People and JYJ fans all over the world now know about this incident and its yet another negative impression that international fans have of South Korean media.
Update #1 Feb 26 2013 11:48AM EST: CJeS Entertainment, the company working for and with JYJ, reportedly spoke to "My Daily" on Feb 26 (KST) about the situation.
CJeS suggested that an apology be made to JYJ fans instead of to JYJ. From the translated reports:
"The basics of a news channel is to give commentary. Their job is to deliver the facts about the program and the guest stars to the viewers. And JYJ's performance was highly anticipated because its so difficult to see JYJ on TV in South Korea. Its difficult due to the rank cowardice of producers, owners, broadcasters, etc who are scared to put JYJ on their shows for fear of retaliation from the big Korean entertainment agencies.
JYJ is still fighting against an antiquated system prevalent in South Korea whereby artists/entertainers are signed to one big management agency which controls all of their management, their money, and their personal lives. Its akin to the old Hollywood studio system which was long abolished in America.
Broadcasters are afraid to be seen supporting artists like JYJ who have spoken out against the shameful totalitarian treatment of the big entertainment companies. And thus, JYJ is treated with a fair amount of disrespect from those who agree with that old system.
Would Park Jong Jin and the Channel A commentators have ever dared to make snide remarks, talking all over a performance of 2TVXQ or any other big agency-backed performer? Probably not.

So
how do i start?
Hmmm..
Let
me start of by saying I am a big fan of the k-pop music industry. I am amazed
by how each bands were formed, how they build friendship, their music, fashion
sense and the over all style of how they presents themselves to public. I also
adore the concerts, fanmeets and other cool events designed to make the fans go
gaga.
To be honest, I am a DBSK fan.
I loved them not only because they all looked so handsome but because they are
all talented. Their vocals, stage presence and choreography is indeed world
class.
Anyways., as painful as it may sound,. They parted ways, bringing 2vxq and JYJ.
At that point, i am not sure if I am to hate SM for destroying this world class
group or be greatful since they grouped them up in the first place.
My dilemma was answered by SM themselves.
As JYJ arise, SM soon became evilish to me. (Sorry for the term)
The mere fact that they are wasting their time interfering with JYJ’s
activities is so unforgivable. Whenever I see JYJ on the internet, it always
pains me to hear that they can’t be broadcasted on their own country.
I hate to say this but as a k-pop fan, i sometimes question myself… is this how
th k-pop industry work? Putting good people down? It is like watching a real
time drama. Each time the 3 boys achieve something big, I feel so proud and
happy. To be on the charts without proper promotion in a slap on SM’s face. To
be regarded as honorary ambassadors for various events is something really big!
I am truly proud.
I
do hope that this 2013, JYJ should be broadcasted in KR music shows.
I hope broadcasting company’s should not loose their integrity and not be
scared to support great talent.
Since
the lawsuit is over, may JYJ continue to inspire people through their good
music and shows.
Though i am a dbsk fan, i believe their split is for the goodness of the
members. Without SM JYJ was able to freely express themselves. I regard them as
artists now that before :)

The first edition of ‘THE JYJ’ contains honest interviews from the members that took place over 25 hours, as well as their memories of the past 1000 days as members of JYJ. A DVD containing 40 minutes of unreleased footage is also included in the magazine. ‘THE JYJ’ will be released every six months and will be catered to JYJ’s fans.
Meanwhile, JYJ have been active as ‘Korea’s representative group’ through various state events and honorary ambassador jobs, including performing at the 18th Presidential Inauguration ceremony.
They ended their lawsuit with SM Entertainment last November in three years and four months, and won their lawsuit against Japan’s AVEX on the 18th of January. Kim Junsu said, “Chang Joo (CEO of C-JeS Entertainment) told us that things would get worse if we responded to every little thing, so we held back on everything. Though it was a very trying time for us, we could do nothing but hold back..”
Kim Jaejoong said, “We knew that this was a fight that we could possibly lose, but we hoped that people would understand our truth when time had passed. At the time, we had no one to speak for us, and we could do nothing but silently stand our ground. Because speaking up would lead to misunderstandings. We couldn’t express ourselves because even denying things would make us look like cowards.”
