JAEJOONG ‘YOUR, MY AND MINE’ FANACCOUNT.

I can still remember the morning when I woke up, looked at twitter on my phone and saw a few @-mentions from friends with the news that Jaejoong was going to release a solo-album! “really? A solo album? REALLY??!!”.  I did some quick research on fansites to find out that it was true! JAEJOONG WAS RELEASING A SOLO ALBUM, A SOLO ROCK ALBUM!!! GODDDD, a few months before I tweeted Jaejoong begging him to release a solo rock album along with an URL of his MAZE performance, I said that if he would ever release one that I’d buy 10,000 copies, LMAO.
Along with the release of the album came the news that Jaejoong would hold a fanmeeting + mini concert in Seoul. Wooaaaahhhhhh,  I’ve always told myself that if Jaejoong would ever have a solo concert that I would be there, no matter what. After talking about it at work and getting free days I could start looking how to get tickets. Luckily I have amazing friends in the fandom that were willing to help me! My precious Japanese nuna [BEE-nuna, who I met at the JYJ Berlin concert] managed to get me a ticket for the Saturday concert, and for the Sunday concert I asked an eBay seller, he got me a VIP seat!!!
So after I was sure of my concert tickets I could book my flight tickets and a hostel. It was quite hard to find a good hostel :/ Maybe because it was on such short notice, everything seemed to be fully booked. But after hours of searching I managed to find a hostel that had a free room for the time I stayed in Seoul. Now the only thing left was waiting.. And preparing of course. I printed a ton of maps of how to go to; Coffee Cojjee, BUM’s Story, Crebeau Jeff, Nuna Photo Studio, concert venue, hostel. I’ve been to Seoul before but it’s still quite stressy to go so far all alone.. kkk
[Flashforward to January 23rd] The trip to Seoul was pretty tiring, Brussels -> London -> Seoul. I woke up at 5AM to catch my flight at 10AM in Brussels, then had to wait 3 hours in London for my transfer-flight to Seoul which was over 12 hours. The total time spent at airports/in planes was about 18 hours. I can’t really sleep on planes because I’m so tall and can never get comfortable, I cursed a few times and told myself I’m pretty crazy to fly over for a concert, DAMN YOU JAEJOONG♥♥♥♥.  So I was quite tired arriving in Seoul, but luckily I was welcomed by JYJ at the Tony Moly  store in the airport.

The ‘bad’ thing now was that it was only 9AM in Seoul, so after arriving at the hostel I couldn’t sleep because that would ruin my whole rhythm. The good thing was that I had a whole day to spend in Seoul hahahahha. So I decided to go to Myeongdeong to get Jaejoong’s album, I didn’t pre-order it because it would be cheaper to get it directly in Seoul. Also from last time I remembered that there were a few Tony Moly stores in Myeongdeong, so I decided to visit one of them and buy some products to get Jaejoong’s poster.

I went in and it was ……pretty awkward…… Since I was alone and I’m a boy the shop ladies looked really strange at me TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT so I was really embarrassed and I went back out after 10 seconds. Hahahha omg they must’ve thought I’m crazy TTTTTTTTTTTTTT. But after 5 minutes I regretted walking out so fast, because I really wanted Jaejoong’s poster. Also I couldn’t walk back into that store because that would make it even more awkward. So I searched for another Tony Moly and found one after walking around about 10 minutes. Now I was really determined to get those posters. So when I walked in now [the store was empty] all the ladies looked at me again TTTTTT, but this time I pretended to be really confident and to be looking for skincare products. So one of the ladies came up to me really quickly and said “SKIN CARE? WANT SKIN CARE? COME! NAMJA SKINCARE, HERE!”. I was so confused I didn’t know what to do or say so I just said “JYJ, Jaejoong, poster, want” lmfaoooooooooooooo. So she replied “AH! JYJ PEN?! 200,000WON PRODUCTS, BIG POSTER FREE!!”. There was this really big Jaejoong poster hanging at the window that she pointed at, but I wasn’t planning on spending 200,000won on products though, lmao. So I asked her how much the small posters were and she said that you get them when you buy 30,000won worth of products. So after that I looked around searching for products but it was really hard finding something since I already have my own skincare products which I like and everything was in Korean so I couldn’t understand what the products would do. So after 2 minutes of me standing there awkwardly the lady came back to me with two Jaejoong posters to tease me. “Buy 60,000won, posters for you!” then I told her that I didn’t know what to buy TTTT she then asked if I was a big fan. So I replied with yesssssssssss, that I flew over from Europe to see Jaejoong’s concert and I showed her the fansign I made hahahha, maybe I shouldn’t have done that. She started laughing and went “AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH BIG NAMJAPEN.” She then yelled something through the store to the other ladies working there and they all come over and looked at my fansign and they were all giggling TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. But after that the lady gave me the posters, so I said “ahhh I’ll look around to see what I want first” but then she just put the posters in my bag TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT “present for namjapen” TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I felt so guilty for just getting the posters that I just stayed in the store, I really wanted to buy something.. I want Tony Moly’s profits to be higher this year with JYJ as the models. So I looked for another 2 minutes and found a big pack of male skinmasks, I decided to buy these. So when I arrived at the cashier it was the same lady as earlier and she said “AHHH! Now JYJ BAG for masks”, so she put the masks in a JYJ bag! Also TTTTTTTTTTTTTT she put in a calendar and Jaejoong standee TTTTTTTTTT Ahhh, this lady really is the sweetest woman on earth. I told her she was too sweet and I really appreciate this! I went out the store with a big smile, and a JYJ bag full of Jaejoong goodies!!

After this I decided to go to Crebreau Jeff. It took some time from myeongdeong station, but with the subway you can get anywhere relatively fast. So once I arrived at the Jamsillaru station I was greeted by a “Jackal Is Coming”-add. I still kind of knew how to get to CJ because I’ve been there before [two times], but it was closed both times. Still, I followed the map I printed to be sure not to get lost. After ringing the bell I waited in anticipating, ‘will it be open this time’, ‘will JIJI be here?’, ‘will sister-nuna be here’? YESSS, NUNA OPENED THE DOOR! Kkkkk, I was so happy to finally see sister-nuna, I took off my shoes and walked inside.. aaaahhhhhhhhhhh, this is heaven for every Jaejoong fan, pictures and signed merchandise everywhere! ALSO JIJI WAS HERE, casually walking around.  “Aaaaahhhhhh JIJI, JIJI, JIJI how are you JIJI kkk JIJI you are so cute”. I asked nuna if she already had the Jaejoong album in the store, she replied that she didn’t so I gave her a copy of the ones I bought earlier. She was really thankful and so sweet, we talked for a bit.. She said that there is one famous JJ-namjapen in Japan who comes to crebeau jeff from time to time, though I don’t really remember his name, maybe keichi or smth? I really want to meet him TTTTTT!  I was alone in the store so I had JIJI all for myself, I picked him up and walked around with him on my arm while looking at all the pictures and merchandise in the store. I asked nuna if she wanted to take a picture of me and JIJI and at first she said “no, no picture with JIJI” but after 3 seconds she changed her mind and said “aah OK OK” kkkk. JIJI is really the cutest cat TT TT TT YOYO was there as well, he is so fluffy omg, really cute as well, he was a little lazy though, he slept the whole time I was there.. hahahaha. I decided to buy a lightstick and a calendar, she added a few stickers, Jaejoong photocards, nuna made sure to pack it really carefully. She put it in green bag first and later in a plastic hello kitty bag (!!!!) kkk. That was so cute, might be an idea of Jaejoong hahahha ^^.

JJ solo album (also bought some for friends kk)

The next day I decided to sleep in and went to Coffee Cojjee. I’ve never been to CC so I made sure to have my map with me to find where it was. It wasn’t too hard to find starting from apgujeong rodeo subway station. I arrived after a 10 minute walk, maybe even less. So when you arrive at CC someone at the entrance will greet you, then you can just say that you’re coming for coffee and it’s basically right in front of you. So I ordered a coffee mocha and sat down in one of the seats, there were some new jaejoong pictures hanging on the wall [ones that were released earlier that day, or the day before], so I took some pictures of all the photos hanging there. There were also 2 signed Jaejoong albums, aahhh, how I wish I could have a signed album TTTTTTTT. First it was a nuna lady working there, but after some time a cute boy came to help kkk. When I was drinking my coffee, two Chinese fans came sitting next to me and we started talking a bit, they had been to Chinese/Hong Kong fanmeetings + concerts and were now in town for Jaejoong’s solo concerts. They were really sweet girls! So after they left my coffee was empty too but I didn’t want to leave yet, it just felt so great sitting there with other Jaejoong fans while having a coffee so I ordered another one. The Chinese girls told me that we could buy the limited edition there cups so I bought a set as well then.

After finishing my second coffee I decided to go to Myeongdeong again to see the Jaejoong adds that were put up by Japanese fans. But as easy as it was to find CC, just as hard was it to find my way back to the subway station hahhaha, I decided not to use the map because it was ~so easy~. Lmfao I got lost and ended up in a street that I remembered from my last time in Seoul! I walked this street to go to BUM’s story! I  decided to go to BUM’s since it was so close now. There was not much to be seen though since it was closed. So I just took a few pictures and then headed to the subway. When I arrived in Myeongdeong it was pretty easy to find the advertisements since they were located just were I got off, so I took a few pictures and went to Myeongdeong for some shopping. In one Kpop store I found a Jaejoong 1st fanmeeting lightstick and bathtowel, so I decided to buy them kk.

Now on Friday I went to Myeongdeong first and decided to go to sister-nuna’s photo studio, I brought some Belgium chocolate for all the girls working there, in return they gave me the CONG JJ calendar TTTTTTTTTTTT, so sweet, all the pictures are AMAZING, gorgeous calendar!!! So after myeongdeong I went to Coffee Cojjee again, I was meeting up with a Japanese friend who I also had met at the Berlin JYJ concert, but not the same friend who got me the Saturday ticket kkk. Now arriving at CC it was REALLY busy, wooaah! Japanese fans everywhere, ahh I just love Japanese fans, they’re always so sweet and excited and jdklqjfkldsfjmlsd. Not that Korean, Chinese and other fans aren’t of course! Maybe it’s just because I speak a little Japanese and I can communicate a bit with them kkkkk?  So today the line to order coffee was quite long so I waited in line and could see from afar that they were selling the Jaejoong birthday cupcakes!!!! AHHHH, I must buy one!! Kkk I was praying for them not to sell out till it was my turn to order, because everyone was getting them.. hahaha! Luckily they didn’t sell out and I managed to get one. It was quite hard to find a seat because there were so many people, luckily two Japanese fans didn’t mind that I joined their table. My friend arrived after 15 minutes, she brought me Tokyo chocolate, Dr Jin poster and fanmeeting DVDs, aahhh so sweet ^^! I had some Belgium chocolate for her too kk. We were sitting at a table were the waiting line for the coffee was next to us, and all of a sudden a fan talked talking to us “tsuitta forowa, tsuitta forowa”, she was one of my followers on twitter, hahaha! I wish I know who she was, she seemed like a really sweet lady! So now my friend and me watched some Jaejoong fancams she secretly took at Jaejoong’s fanmeetings, it was so cool, being surrounded by so many Jaejoong fans, watching Jaejoong fancams and all sharing the same interests [JAEJOONG!!], hahaha!

We wanted to go to BUM’s and decided that it was best to go early because many many fans were probably going tonight. So we arrived at BUM’s at around 5PM and there were already around 20 fans waiting in line, all of them were Japanese, kkkk. But on this Friday it was REALLY cold, we were all freezing while waiting for BUMs to open, though we were waiting inside a tent, it really didn’t help for the cold because there were holes everywhere.. hahahha. One man working there tried to make a little fire to keep us warm but that plan didn’t turn out to well since there was more smoke than heat. So he just put the vase-thingy outside the tent and let it die hahah. BUM’s opened at 6PM and there were SO MANY PEOPLE now, omg! Around 80/100 I think.. Luckily we were early and we could get in as soon as it opened. We ordered our food and drinks and enjoyed it so much, it’s really delicious, so delicious!! As drinks I recommend the sagwa makgeoli, definitely my favorite mmmm! Bum-hyung was there too, he recognized me from last time and said hi while passing by, kkkk, I wanted to ask for a picture again but I was too shy hahaha, I did bring him and everyone at BUM’s some chocolate so I gave it to him when we left. And when I left I ran into MIKI4JJ, who I had also met at the Berlin JYJ con, it was a happy reunion, we took a picture together and said goodbye. We already planned on meeting at the concert on Saturday.

SATURDAY CONCERTDAY AKA SEEING JAEJOONG DAY OMG. I decided to go to the venue early to be sure not to miss out on merchandise.. kkkk. But…………………omg…………I forgot my map on how to get there. I remembered it was in Ilsan so I decided to go to Ilsan with the subway and I thought I’d probably see other fans there and then I could just follow them to go to Kintex concert complex. So I arrived at Ilsan station and there was no trace of anyone that could be a Jaejoong fan TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I felt a meltdown coming up, lol, so I decided to get a coffee at one of the coffee shops there. Luckily there was wifi so I asked on twitter which exit I needed at the Ilsan station.. People told me that the Kintex complex isn’t at Ilsan station but at DaeHwa station.. hahaha.. omg. I had to go all the way back and then transfer on another line to get to DaeHwa. So I lost some time there but I still was pretty early at the venue. There was a line in front of me but definitely not enough people so that the merchandise would sell out. Waiting in line I met up with Ning from twitter and we talked for a bit when all of a sudden the line started to move. Apparently the line was waiting in front of the wrong door to get the merchandise, so everybody started running towards the right door, it was such a mess! We all had our bags resting on the ground so we had to grab our bags while everyone started running and pushing, omg, MESS! But we didn’t end up losing too many spots in line, luckily kkk.

Waiting line 30 min later, it kept getting longer and longer

Once we were allowed inside it was really calm, it was organized really well. I felt some stares though from fans, kkkk, they probably didn’t expect a foreign male fan? I don’t know hahah.. Once it was my turn to get the merch I bought everything except for the Iphone case and the tumbler. The special set is so amazing, the standees & the poster, so happy I got that one. The t-shirt is also reallyyyy nice!!!  After we got the merchandise I ran to the giant boards set up were we could write down messages for Jaejoong, I wrote “JJ-HYUNG SARANGHAEYO”, in Korean of course kkkk. After that I took pictures of the JYJ/JJ posters that were hung up. Some Korean highschool girls bowed all the way to the ground in front of the Jaejoong posters…. Hahahahha… They must’ve been really big fans and respect him a lot kkkkk!!! Also the big posters were the meeting place for a group of international fans, so I/we waited there for everyone to get their merch and come to the posters. While I was waiting one of the highschool girls came up to me and asked if I wanted to take a picture of her group, lmao? Of all the people standing/waiting there she came and asked me to take a picture of her group.

After everyone arrived at the meeting place we went to look at the rice donations, a whole lot of different countries and fanclubs donated so much, wow! It was amazing!! I’m so happy Jaejoong has so many caring fans ♥. While I was taking pictures of all the rice donation flower bouquets I ran into two Chinese fans. Mother and daughter [I think], the daughter told me that my picture is posted all over Chinese fanboards, I had no idea what she was talking about tough, but probably weibo or baidu? Then the mom asked if her daughter could take a picture with me, but the daughter didn’t really seem like she wanted to? But her mom forced her!!! TTTTTTT Poor daughter hahahhahahah. So after we all took pictures of everything JJ possible in the hall we went outside the hall and went to “Tous Les Jours”, a small bakery in the Kintex complex, they were showing “JJ – MINE” MV on repeat there, and on big screen! It was really nice sitting there with others international fans, getting to know each other, talking about how we got into JYJ/JJ everything that goes alone with it.
I didn’t have my ticket for the concert yet because a Japanese friend was picking it up for me and she would arrive at around 4PM, so I waited for her to arrive. After she tweeted me that she arrived we met up and she gave me my ticket, ahhh she was such a sweet lady TTTTTTTTT. [She was a friend of BEE-nuna.] Now the Japanese fans that came to the concert with organized tours had arrived too. THERE.WERE.SO.MANY.JAPANESE.FANS. omg! I felt really bad for them though, when they come to the concert with the organized tour they have to follow a schedule, they were forced to go duty free shopping first and only arrived at the venue at around 4PM (?). Then they had to start lining up for merchandise. I don’t know if all of them were able to get merch, the line was SO long TTTTTTTTTTTT! But now that most Japanese fans had arrived I could meet up with Bee-nuna that I met at Berlin concert!! It was such a happy reunion TTTTT!!!!!! It also got pretty crazy here, because I was now standing in a sea of nuna fans, many of them were giggling and staring at me. A few came running up towards me giving me presents, hahahha, so sweet!! One fan was a korean woman who made Jaejoong fanart and she gave me a few of her designs as presents, another woman came and gave me Korean traditional rice cake [DELICIOUS!!] also one woman gave me JJ Tony Moly standee TTTTTTTTTTT nuna fans are so sweet!!!!!!! So I talked with Bee-nuna till she had to go inside the hall to get the merchandise.
Now I really had to pee, hahahha, that was harder than expected lmaooo!! I went to the male washroom but there was a lady waiting outside telling me “this male washroom is now lady washroom”, I was quite confused but still decided to walk inside and then she said “WOMEN INSIDE, CANT GO IN”…………..lmaoooo what to do now?  I went to another washroom and it was the same there. Luckily one fan told me that here was still a male washroom available upstairs, so I decided to go to that one.
When I arrived back downstairs I decided to start lining up to get inside the concert hall. The line went pretty fast and I was inside earlier than expected! The seat for the Saturday concert wasn’t the best but I was still happy to be there, soon the girls who were sitting next to me arrived and I started talking to them. Kkk they were really sweet Korean girls and their English was quite good, they loved JY! We talked about JYJ and everything that goes along with it and took some pictures.

Soon the concert was about to start! Omgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg, I was so nervous and happy and ughhhhhhhhhhh. I read on twitter earlier that there was a little surprise event organized for Jaejoong, when he would came on stage first we would all hold a banner up and sing ‘happy birthday’. So omgggggggggggggggggggggggg, the lights went out!!!!!!! Omgggggggggggggggg All of a sudden everyone was looking at the back of the concert hall and there was this huge ass big sized cake there coming down.. I thought this was part of the surprise event for Jaejoong, when he would come up on stage there would be a big cake and we would all sing happy birthday. But OMG NO TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Jaejoong popped out of the cake TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I was soooooooo not expecting this!!! I started crying and shaking hysterically, I wasn’t ready yet, I thought I’d have another 3 minutes till I’d see Jaejoong but now he was there, right in front of me, waving and smiling and being his perfect self. Omggggggggg I think I cried for about 10 minutes, it was so embarrassing, my whole face and shirt were so wet.. hahahha. The girls next to me didn’t talk to me anymore, they probably didn’t know what to think.. What is this foreign strange ass fan doing, crying like there’s no tomorrow. After about 15 minutes I calmed down a bit and was able to enjoy the fanmeeting, the girls started talking to me again and translated some stuff from time to time, really nice of them! I couldn’t keep my eyes of Jaejoong, ahhh he is so handsome, so so so so so handsome!!! Time flew by and even before I could realize it the concert started already! This was what I had been waiting for the most, the mini concert!!! Jaejoong”s live singing, his own mini album and other songs omggggg! WHAT.TO.DO.
As soon as the concert started I had a meltdown (literally), I started crying uncontrollably again. I just couldn’t stop, he sang with so much emotion and it was just SO GOOD. Also being there, in the red/green ocean TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I felt so at home! Everyone there probably was such a big JJ fan and ughhhhhhh TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I cried the whole concert TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I was soooo emotional, after watching so many fancams and concert DVDs and pictures, I was there, in the same room as Jaejoong, listening to his live singing. I couldn’t believe it. I hope every fan might experience this sometime, it’s so hard to describe this feeling TTT. Wish I could explain it better.  Hope I’ll be able to experience this again, because WOW I was blown away. Seriously the videos on youtube, even the 1080p HD ones, don’t do his live singing justice, he is such an amazing singer, really, really, really! The concert was over before I could even realize it TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

Concert finished, everyone leaving the con hall

So when the concert was over I met up again with the the international fans and said goodbye. When I walked to our meet-up place some people came asking to take picture again, some of them saying that they knew me from twitter kkk. Everybody was really nice so of course it was no problem ^^. Then I had to run for the subway train, it was last train TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! I missed my transfer though, so I had to take a taxi to my hostel ><.
SUNDAY AKA SECOND CONCERT DAY. Today my seat was a lot better than for the Saturday con, VIP A2!! I told myself that I couldn’t cry today and had to enjoy the FM + CON to the fullest since it’s the last day + it might be a while since I’ll see JJ again after this. I arrived quite late  today, around 4PM, I think? But I met up with I-fans again at “Tous Les Jours” and we talked about last night’s con and spazzed a lot, lmao!!! When I went to buy a bottle of water the ahjussi store owner recognized me and asked if I was going to the con 2 times, kkkkkkkkkkk. The concert started at 6PM today so I started lining up pretty fast. Though when I arrived in the concert hall it was already pretty packed, it was quite hard to find my seat since most of the seats were taking already and I couldn’t see the seat numbers. Also when I walking towards my seat the cutest staff member came up to me because… she had an announcement… SHE.WAS.SO.CUTE.OMG. I think she was a high school volunteer staff member, she tried her hardest to speak English and it was really cute omggg, I’m still dying when I think about it. She told me that it was not allowed to take pictures, or videos, or audio recordings. She also said that I couldn’t go outside, because once outside you can’t go back in, though this didn’t mean that I could go to the washroom, she said that there were people waiting at the back of the hall and they would walk along to the washrooms if needed. She explained it so well, she must’ve been nervous to say this in English, hahahaha but I really appreciated that she did it /SO CUTE/.
Today I was sitting in a sea of Japanese fans, kkkkkkkkkkkk, I noticed that most of them had earphones it, apparently FM got translated for them, really nice! I got a lot of ‘oooohs’ and ‘aaaahs’ while going to my seat >< I’m really too tall for these kind of concerts TTTTTTTTTTT. Today…. I kept myself together and didn’t cry. I enjoyed the whole show and died of jealousness a few times.. So many fans were able to go on stage, aahhh TTTTTTTTTT Wish I was one of them, but I wasn’t lucky with the games or seats lottery’s kkkkkkkkkkkkkk. The concert was, again, super amazing, his live voice, incredible, unbelievable,…….. Perfect, better than CD. Time went by way too fast again. Still, I was really happy and grateful to able to be there. Hands down the best two concerts I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to quite a few). I’m still not over what an amazing singer he is.
So walking to the subway some people asked for pictures again. But lmaoooo, I will never forgot these three girls, I think they were about 14 y/o? They looked really young and they kept walking behind me for a while, and they were yelling and giggling and running, lmao I idn’t know what was going on.. Until one of them came walking if front of me and asked “PICTURE OK?” hahahahhaha I said yes of course, they were so adorably but then.. she started screaming to her friends, probably that I said yes to a picture and all three of them started screaming so loud and yelling and omg lmfao what was going on?  Do I look like such a mean bitch that I wouldn’t want to take a picture with them, hahahah they were waaay to excited, but it was really cute though. I also saw Egg-hyung while walking to the exit, I wanted to take a picture with him but there were so many fans around him and I had to catch my subway-train again so I decided not to wait for it.. Then when I was outside a bunch of fans were taking down all the banners and posters hanging there, I wanted to get one too but all of them were gone already TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. When I was sitting on the subway I was looking at all the pictures on my phone of the past days and the I couldn’t help but notice the two Japanese women sitting next to me sneakingly looking along. I started talking to them and showed them pictures of CJ/JIJI/JPN advertisements/BUMS/CC, they were really nice and  seemed to be surprised that my phone background and lockscreen is Jaejoong hahahahah.

MONDAY! I had told CJ sister-nuna that I would go back to CJ on Monday to say goodbye to JIJI&YOYO, so I did. When I arrived there were quite a lot of fans, most of them were Japanese fans again kkkk. When I arrived first JIJI&YOYO weren’t there TTTTTTT nuna-sister-probably took them out because there were too many people? But I stayed for a little while and then I was alone in the shop again, then JIJI&YOYO came back in! YAY! Also Photo studio nuna was there too! 2-sis nuna were there, aahhh So lucky to have met both of them, I asked for a picture together and it was no problem, they also gave me a Jaejoong poster TTTTT so nice!!

Picture with 2sis nuna ^^

After CJ I went to CC again.. hahaha, since it was my last day in Seoul I wanted to enjoy some coffee there again. It was REALLY crowded again, so many fans, even more then on Friday I think. So I waited in line and guess who I met there…… The two Chinese girls who I had met there on Thursday, it was such a coincidence, but really cool! While waiting in line the girl behind me started talking to me, she was a Japanese fan and really really friendly, we followed each other on twitter and took a picture together. The two Chinese girls from earlier managed to get a table and invited me to sit with them, then two Japanese women who I walked passed waved at me and said that they were a CJ earlier and saw me there and now we’re both here, hahah it was such a coincidence again, but really cool ^___^! CC was the last Jaejoong related thing I did while In Seoul TTTTTTTTTTT. Of course I did a lot more things then I described here but since it’s not related to Jaejoong I didn’t write it down ^^, I had SUCH A BLAST, the trip was waaaaaaaaaaay too short but really amazing. Would definitely do it again if I had the chance to ^^!

[Trans REVIEW] YOUR MY & MINE – Kim Jaejoong 2013 Mini Concert & Fan Meeting in Thailand

Date: 17th February, 2013
Venue: BITEC Event Hall
Here comes a review that I originally didn’t intend to write. I have to admit that I assumed I wouldn’t be writing this when I found out that I got a ticket. I usually prefer to write review on concerts, but this time it seems to lean heavily toward fan meeting-themed activities. Fan Meeting just isn’t my thing.
This is how the story went. My sisters were asking me if I would go to the event or not when the tickets were opened for sale. I replied off the top of my head that I probably won’t be going. I didn’t attending Joongie’s fan meeting last October, so I easily made my decision this time that I won’t be going either. The two main reasons are, first, I’m not too familiar with this type of event and second, I’m broke. The latter was a bigger deal.
Finally, one day before the event will be held, I was chatting with my friend on Facebook. She happens to be an Asian entertainment journalist (Korean, to be more specific). When she found out that I (who have been a fan of Jaejoong for a long time) is not going, she asked why. I explained the reason mentioned above and she offered me one of her press passes. I was reluctant at first, asking her whether it’ll be a bother or not. She insisted that I take it and I did. Thank you to my friend, Golf, who’s always thinking about me. We’ve been friends for over a decade. Even though we lead a different career path, we’re still kind of the same when it comes to how rough our paths had been.
I arrived at the BITEC event hall pretty early because a sister who was going with me had some sort of gift trading to attend to. We got there around 2.30 pm. I waited in front of the event hall where it was air-conditioned – just nice and chilly. While I was waiting, a familiar voice and music came from inside the hall, loud enough to penetrate through the doors. We understood that the artist was probably having a sound-check. Many were wondering… was it live singing or pre-recorded sound being played to tease us? From my experience, it seemed to be the actual artist having a sound-check.
During that time, many close friends and sisters were begging and pressuring me to write review (please, please, PLEASE). Umm, writing review is tiring, you know? Plus, this is a fan meeting. There will probably be an hour of singing with 9 to 10 songs at the most. However, they wouldn’t back down. I was too lazy to remember every detail… but, as you can see, here it is. Hence, I want to state right here that I might not remember every single detail. This is a review based solely on my memory and a little more scribbling that I wrote down during the live concert. Don’t scold me if I accidentally forgot something…
This is one of those times when I feel like I attend an event full of kids. Felt a bit old, but I didn’t care. Another thing I noticed was a lot of fans came from abroad. There were definitely Japanese fans, including Chinese and Korean. Some came from neighboring countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. Even European fans were seen. Quite an international fan meeting we have here.
My sisters and I slowly made our way inside the hall around 4.30 pm. because the actual event was going to start at 5. Fans were pretty orderly. The facial expression of staff was bright and smiley, showing that not much was to be concerned even though there were like gazillions of fans who attended. At first, I heard that the tickets weren’t sold out, but I noticed that a lot of people were buying their tickets in front of the venue. I’m pleased for Jaejoong because I’ve been told of how demanding he was. He wanted this to be the next event after the Korean fan meeting. He didn’t care that it had been on such a short notice. He wanted it to be as close to Valentine’s Day as possible, too. I guess the artist got his wish.
My seat was in B2 zone, way back on the right side of the stage. I think it was good. I got to see a lot of things and clearly saw everything on screen because no one was blocking my view. The royal anthem was played at 5 pm. on the dot. There was a brief quiet moment after the song ended, but it wasn’t too long.
DJ Bo or Bo Thanakorn (Did I hear correctly that he’s changed his name?) was the MC of this event. Bo was funny. He was cracking tons of jokes. A little down-fall was Ms. June, the translator. She did her job quite well, but, at times, she simply decided not to translate. Some moments that could have been more fun or more playful just didn’t quite ‘peak’. Some of her translations were a bit choppy and her timings were somehow off. I hope there’s no hard feeling that I speak so frankly. Personally, I haven’t attended many fan meetings, but I work as a translator as well and couldn’t help taking notice.
Jaejoong walked out from the side of the stage with a huge smile. Our rocker wore his concept pants and black boots with coat over a white tank. I noticed he was fidgeting with his coat like he was going to take if off a lot of times. The heat was probably getting to him, but he hung in there. I guess it was good because even the fidgeting drew a lot of nosebleeds and screams. His hair color was quite flashy this time – red with blue highlights.

First segment of the event began. The first activity was Q&A – questions were from fans who wrote on post-it notes which were pasted onto two giant boards that staff wheeled up on stage. The artist was picking questions to answer. I’m not sure if I’d forgotten any of the questions. Let’s see..
The 1st question that he picked was written in Thai. It’s pretty risky because he could have accidentally got a weird question. The artist was careful enough to say that he wouldn’t answer a question he’s uncomfortable with. The first one asked him to do three animals dance. Jaejoong acted like he wanted to die because he couldn’t even act out his favorite animal like an elephant. He tried to slide out of it by saying that he used to make a promise about singing elephant song during the last JYJ concert. He did keep his promise. ‘Can I go back and practice first? I’ll show it to you next time’. I seriously want to applaud him for his sly wit. Another question I remember is a one written in English that read ‘Will you marry me?’. He was just standing there, laughing, before he finally said ‘well, I’ve never seen her. How can I say yes?’. After that, he turned toward the audience and said “Looks matter!”. Cue another fan scream.

Another question was picked by the MC. The question was ‘Do you have a Furby?’ (T/N: getting a Furby is kind of a new fad right now in Thailand). Jaejoong didn’t know what it was and we had a good laugh. Jaejoong picked the last question that was written in Korean… it said ‘Can I kiss you?’ or something similar. He’s really embarrassed, but still kept the playboy-ish charm by saying “It might be difficult to get married, but a kiss on the cheek… why not?”. He walked over to the cameraman before taking a long while to brace himself to kiss the camera. He seemed totally embarrassed and after he pressed his lips onto the camera… the hall almost burst into pieces. Jaejoong was so shy – he resorted to clawing at the post-it filled boards and running to hide at the back with embarrassment. The MC was running all over the stage, trying to find him. The nice cameraman captured the moment of him, playing hide and seek, being all bashful in the back. Before he managed to calm himself down, it was one embarrassment after another. The first activity was really funny.

The next segment relied a bit on fans’ honesty. Everyone had to stand up, answered a right-or-wrong question or picked the right answer. All of the questions were extremely personally. Basically, it took pure luck to get it right. As far as I remember, the questions were the date when Jaejoong changed his twitter ID, Did he wear a white undie yesterday… that sort of thing. The MC saw that a lot of fans still got it right, so he decided to eliminate people by telling those who wore watches on their right hands to keep standing up. I was one of those people, but I eventually got the ‘favorite food’ question wrong. For those who didn’t know, Jaejoong loves eating Pad Thai. I answered ‘Tomyum Kung’ because I know he likes spicy food, but it was a wrong answer.

The next question was ‘where does Jaejoong like to go on vacation in Thailand?’ This question eliminated tons of people who mostly got it wrong. Those who answered Chiang Mai, Wat Pho, Seasides etc. all got eliminated because Jaejoong actually wanted to go to Siam square the most. He’s usually cooped up in the hotel when he comes to Thailand. The hotel he stays is located near Siam square, but he’s only driven by – never actually walked the place. Hence, Siam square became his dream destination spot.
There were about ten people left standing. They all got to up on stage and received presents. The present was a cute headband with horns on top that he put on them himself. The last few people got a cheer from the MC for a handshake and the last one got a full-on hug! The little girl seems happy. The artist just stood there being all embarrassed. What a shy boy you are!
The third activity was rock-paper-scissors. Staffs were looking on to see if anyone was cheating. Those who lost to Jaejoong had to sit down. It was more fun than I thought because the artist was pretty conniving. He kept giving out rocks and then suddenly switched to scissors – tons of people started losing. The funny part was Jaejoong spoke on stage that some actually raised her hands with an ‘I Love You’ sign language toward him instead of actually playing rock-paper-scissors. LOL
There were 5 people left standing. Not only did they get a gift from the artist, they got to arm wrestle with him as well. The artist was obviously not trying. He let the girls use both of their hands to wrestle with his one arm. We know full well he’s actually quite muscular because he weight-lifts to stay in shape. If it was played fair and square, they all would have lost. Jaejoong faked defeat to everyone, but even when the fans were using both hands, they were sweating and shaking all over. While Jaejoong was laughing and picked up a mic with a relaxed posture to say ‘oh… you girls are stronger than I thought’. He just sat there all calm while fans looked like they were about to die trying to beat him.
JJ5
The funny part was the last fan who tried to get all touchy-feely with him. She stared at him with a knowing look and Jaejoong stared back. She seemed to be really strong while arm wrestling compared to the others before her. After she beat him, she kissed his wrist! The MC had to come to rescue. It was funny. The artist was so embarrassed – he buried his face in his arm on the table. All five fans managed to win over Jaejoong (without him breaking a single sweat) and received heart-shaped pillows as gifts.
The last game was charades. I hate to say it was unbelievably hard. I was sitting there, thinking how I would have acted out the word. Even if it was played among Thai people, how could anyone would have guessed such a difficult word? Three fans were randomly picked from seat numbers. The first girl got lucky with the first word ‘elephant’… but after that were ‘Chaing Mai’, ‘Sukhothai’ and ‘RajPruk’. How could anyone guess? The second girl was pretty good. Kudos to the artist who actually got the word ‘Thai gazebo’ right. He actually spoke in Thai! Studied beforehand, haven’t you?
Things got complicated with the third girl. She was from Malaysia and couldn’t read or speak Thai. The MC helped out by translating. She got the word ‘Suvarnabhumi’ right. The funny thing is Jaejoong clearly couldn’t remember the actual name of the airport. He kept going “Suvarn… Suvarn.. Suvarna..” several times until he got it right. The girl who won got a necklace that Jaejoong put on her himself.
The artist was given a short break after long hours. Mine MV was shown on screen with a little behind-the scene video. After that, the MC came back out for the second part of the fan meeting. The artist came out in a new outfit, a vest over a short-sleeved T-shirt. He’s going to be cooking for us. Kim Jaejoong has always been famous for his culinary skills, having always been the only one who cooks for his members. He said that this might not taste like a 100-percent Jaejoong’s dish because staff pre-made the ingredients.
Looking at the rocker image of the artist, I had wanted to ask who’s the one responsible for picking out the apron. It had bright pink flowery print on it. Even the MC spoke out loud… ‘Who in the world picked this apron?’. Did Jaejoong care? Nope. He professionally put it on in a manner of someone who likes to cook. He didn’t care what it looked like.
I’m not too sure if the translator didn’t tell us the name of the dish or I didn’t quite catch it. I didn’t know much about Korean food, but I got an idea of what it was from watching all those variety shows. Gochujang was added to boiling water, followed by vegetables, rick cakes (Teokbokki), hard-boiled eggs, sausages, fish cakes and finish it off with the lastly added ramyon noodles. It was that easy, but I didn’t know what it was called.
Two fans were randomly picked again to taste the artist’s food. Two girls got up on stage during the cooking process. Jaejoong opened up the lid and saw that the broth was too thickened. After a quick taste, he added a lot of water to the pot. When it was boiling hot, he added the vegetables. I guess standing in front of the stove was pretty hot. Jaejoong turned to the cameraman and began chatting with him… ‘oh… do you feel hot as well? You’re sweating a lot. Are you tired?’ and played with the camera. It was adorable… like he was cooking in his own home.
When Jaejoong was adding the meat, the MC spoke out loud ‘next step, adding Jaejoong’s egg and sausage’. When the translator translated, the artist burst out laughing. He seemed embarrassed… showing how internationally understood the joke was. Jaejoong turned toward the MC and told him not to say such thing because one of the fans who got up on stage is a 16 year-old. Jaejoong was laughing the whole time, though. At one point, Jaejoong looked to the two fans on stage and said ‘one girl was staring at me with this look’… and demonstrated an unconvinced stare. He said he didn’t know how to respond to that.
JJ8
The artist and the cameraman broke a lot of sweats until the food is done. The MC cutely wiped the sweat off of the cameraman’s face with a handkerchief while Jaejoong swiftly took off his apron and wiped the sweat with the back of his hand LOL. He started putting the food into a small bowl and ready to feed the lucky fans. However, he was trolling them by a non-stop feeding with chopsticks. The first girl was honest enough to say that it was too sweet. Jaejoong seemed to lose a bit of confidence. The second girl got a non-stop feeding as well until she had to raise her for him to stop. He sulked ‘It wasn’t good?’. She answered ‘It was burning hottt~’. They walked over to the side of the stage. Jaejoong asked if the food was delicious or not and why were they acting all weird XD. The second girl said that it was delicious – just too hot for tasting. The cooking segment was fun. We got to see Jaejoong losing his cool. It was adorable.
Here comes the last activity for the fan meeting. This activity was called ‘Paparazzi’. Jaejoong will show us unrevealed photos. The first one was him on a plane when he was flying to Thailand. The second one…. he forgot when it was taken, but I noticed that it was at the immigration counter in Suvarnabhumi airport because I used to attend to VIP guests there for 6 days straight without sleep.
The third photo was nosebleed-worthy because it was taken during his filming of Dr. Jin in Korea. It was a photo of Jaejoong lying in a bathtub at a hotel. The MC asked him who took that photo. Jaejoong quickly replied that it was a fellow actor who sneaked in. The MC teasingly added ‘Darn, it could get R-rated if the photo was taken a little to the left’ and Jaejoong was like ‘Uh huh’ and told him to change the photo already because it was getting pretty racy and embarrassing. The fourth photo wasn’t much different. It was a sexy photo taken before he went to bed. Fans were screaming uncontrollably and the artist was busy being bashful… even though he picked out the photos himself.
Before Jaejoong took a break and went backstage to prepare for a live concert, staff wheeled out a cart with lollipops arranged as a giant heart on stage. Jaejoong said that Valentine’s Day went by recently and he wanted to surprised fans by giving them one lollipop each. Fans can pick those up after the concert ended. Oh my, how thoughtful. When the artist disappeared backstage, the MC and translator has done all their work and said goodbye to fans as well.

While we were waiting for the final part of this event, a funny VTR was shown. After I had seen it, I was thinking.. ‘Am I really about to watch a live concert of a rocker?’ because the VTR was so hilarious. The entire story was narrated by Yuchun, one of the members of JYJ and Jaejoong’s best friends. Yuchun was narrating how Jaejoong was so concentrated on composing, making his album and his MV with all his heart. After a while, he began praising the genius that is Kim Jaejoong. Everything he does is amazing. Great lyrics, Superb outfits and looks – so cool in every imaginable dimension. Jaejoong hyung finally developed a craze for Kim Jaejoong.
During the narration, we got to see Jaejoong being anxious, whiny, getting out of control the entire time. Things got mental when Yuchun’s Jaejoong hyung was trying to book a ticket to Kim Jaejoong’s concert. When he failed to log in to the ticketing site, he was screaming crazily. He tried to offer ideas on Kim Jaejoong’s concert, but before he actually managed to make a post, some other fans already did. He was complaining about these fans who do nothing but obsess about Kim Jaejoong all day long. It was so amusing. I love Jaejoong being all crazy like this. He seriously did not care about looking cool or maintaining his image at all.
The skit VTR was pretty long, but very enjoyable. Before the actual concert began, a message written in both Korean and Thai popped up on screen. It seemed to be a message written by the artist himself, telling us to have fun at his concert.
JJ7
The opening for the first song was marvelous. The sight is permanently seared into my brain. A white screen in the back slid opened and Jaejoong appeared behind it like a sliding doors. He looked cool. I noticed that he probably knew his angles. He knew the rhythm, how to move, stand and express his emotions in a manner that still makes him look cool and draw screams from fans. He truly knew his things.
He picked ‘One Kiss’ as the first song to sing. I’m impressed by the amazing sound system. I like how a live band was brought in to play. Jaejoong gave it all out since the first song. His voice projected everywhere. He had absolute control over the vocal and his own emotions – not to mention the epically beautiful lighting system. It was a great visual and had the audience hooked.
Next up was ‘Comfort of Mine’ with the energy level still running high. Even though this song has a acoustic sound to it and seemed a little lighter than the first song, his voice cut through our hearts. His neck veins were noticeably bulging when he sang. I love the lighting effects for this song. The blue light streams were shown over all, creating such a nice atmosphere. The ending of the song had my heart thumping so loudly.

The artist took a break to talk to the audience. It was probably scripted because a Thai subtitle was already made to be shown on screen. He began singing the third song. Jaejoong said he personally likes this song and has re-arranged to add a rock feel to it. I would say this song is a blend of rock, ballad and acoustic all mixed together. This song was called ‘Though I Love You’. The screen on the back of the stage not only showed nice graphic images that fitted perfectly with the emotion of the song, but also Hangul letters that I guess was probably the lyrics. It all created an excellent atmosphere for the song.
Jaejoong talked with the audience for a little while before singing his three favorite songs that he personally picked out to sing in his own style. It was ‘For You’ that touched everybody’s heart. We can clearly see how much emotion Jaejoong put into the song. He gave a long sigh after finishing the song. He seemed to be really into it. Another song was ‘Can’t Let You Go’ which had a sweet ballad tone with a hint of sadness. Ending with ‘I Always’, he turned his back to us before coolly putting on his shades. I don’t know how to describe the style of this song. It was a rock song with rhythm and blues feel to it… was it a bit jazzy? I don’t think so. However, the background on stage made it look like a Jazz club. He didn’t abandon the concept because a hint of rock was still in the air. The song finished with fireworks shooting out on stage to excite us all.
Another pause to talk with the audience. I liked how I said that the songs he picked are his favorites which he often sings. He said “It would be great if my fans knew the meaning of these songs, but you guys still had fun, right?” I think Jaejoong is a person who feels great about every single word he sings. The emotions are always fully expressed and delivered. Most importantly, he always wants the audience to feel what he feels. This personally impressed me.
The next song was “I’ll Take Care of You” (or the so-called ‘I’ll Protect You’, I wrote the name of the song according to the set list). Fans prepared the project to be done during this song. You have to raise banners that read ‘a rose from you’ with picture of a rose and ‘because I love you’ that was written on the back. It was cute. I think I would be happy if I were the artist. I have to admit that I didn’t participate in the project (my apology) because I was too busy observing the artist’s reaction. I saw Jaejoong’s smile with a glint in his eyes. He must have been touched.
JJ9
cr: Pingbook
There are actually karaoke words on screen for fans to sing along during this song. Jaejoong asked fans to sing for him – without the music at first and with a piano afterwards. I listened and felt happy for him. He never stopped smiling during this song. At the end, paper shoots came flying out like fireworks. It was a beautiful ending.
Jaejoong said goodbye and disappeared backstage. We all know it’s for an encore. The live show was tantalizingly close to ending. The sound of ‘Kim Jaejoong’ being chanted truly echoed throughout the hall. After a while, another message popped up on screen ‘oh, fans haven’t left? Can you scream a little louder then?’ and Jaejoong came out as we chanted his name.
Jaejoong was adorable. Whatever we said, he always replied with a ‘Kob khun krub (thank you)’. The next song that he sung was ‘All Alone’. I personally like this song a lot. It sounded extravagant as if I was floating in the air. I love how they made his voice more echoic than usual. The song expressed a lonely feeling, but it was epic at the same time. The lighting on stage added to the atmosphere. At first, streams of purple light bathed the stage and yellow lighting was projected in contrast later. It was absolutely beautiful.
JJ11
Then, it was time for the last song which is the title for this concert. I’ve got to admit that I desperately wanted to see this song being sung at a live concert. The emotion peaked as soon as the intro started. Jaejoong looked like a real-life rocker; there was no holding back when he struck poses with the lighting effects on stage that was mainly red. The entire hall was screaming. When the song ended, I said to myself “wow, that was orgasmic”. It was more fun than I had imagined. Too bad the concert ended when the energy and adrenaline-rush were still running high.
Personally, I’m not familiar with Jaejoong’s rocker image with a live band, but Jaejoong had cleanly stripped off his old image. He always had a wide vocal range and a raspy tone that fitted the rock genre. The show came out great. A strange-to-see visual, but I’m not surprised by the artist’s capabilities. It was definitely a concert worth paying for. Jaejoong truly put everything on the table. If he could come down from the stage and talked to each fan one-by-one, I believe he would have.
It was extremely crowded when we got out of the hall. I hate being in such a cramped up space. I almost died trying to get outside. I made a quick bathroom break and came back to see my friends and sisters who was still gathering in front of the hall. Some were hungrily cueing up to get snacks because it’s already past 8 pm. The event was over 3 hour-long. Some traded in their ticket stubs to get those lollipops (the Valentine’s gifts). It was jam-packed with people.
I noticed a group of police officers and staff huddling over something. I took a good look and saw that they caught some people who were taking videos of the event. I couldn’t clearly remember how many people were caught, but I saw them seriously being escorted out from the hall. It was no joke.
This has been a spur-of-the-moment fan meeting and mini-concert. Not only was it last minute, I was pressured to write this review by my friends and sisters as well. However, it was worth it; worth the traveling-fee, worth the long wait. When I was inside the hall and soaked in the atmosphere, I saw how dedicated the artist and the staff were. I got to see a great live concert and said to myself that it was a good thing that I came… it was enjoyable and very impressive.
Even though, these days, Jaejoong had been teased by Junsu that he’s old enough to be a great-grandfather of all idols (which is kind of true). However, he has shown that he’s the kind of artist who truly loves his work and gives it everything he’s got. Moreover, he’s constantly trying to improve himself. I think we will be seeing this man shine in the music industry for a long time.
I want to say thank you, again, to my friend who had given me the ticket so eagerly. We’ve really been through everything together. Thank you to Piya who was entertaining me along the ride to the venue (though you didn’t help one bit on the direction of how to actually get there). Glad to have met Yokie, Nat, Big, Ying and many others whose names I was too reticent to ask. I was happy I got to talk to everyone. Thank you to 411 Entertainment and all the sponsors right here.
Next time, if Jaejoong or JYJ come to hold an event and I get to attend, I’ll write more reviews for you to read.
Thank you for reading
Note:
1: This review did not focus on photos. Please forgive me if the photos weren’t perfectly spot-on.
2. Glad to see that a lot of Jaejoong’s fanboys attended the event
3. Felt horrible about a certain inappropriately planned-out project
4. Glad to have unbelievably finished writing this review
Lastly, thanks to songs from Epik High and Infinite which I’ve been listening to throughout my writing of this lengthy review ^^
